Luminoso, a US-based advertising startup that turns online text into usable advertising data, has raised $6.5m in series A funding in a round featuring internet company and incubator Digital Garage.
The round was led by venture capital firm Arcadia Wood, and the funds will be used to hire additional staff, and to expand Luminoso’s product offering. It followed a 2012 seed round, in which Luminoso raised $1.5m
Luminoso assists companies in analysing sentiment, expression and language in text online. It has been used utilised by companies seeking to decipher what sentiments people are expressing about a particular product or issue, particularly on social media.
