US-based recipe subscription service Din has raised $3m in seed funding from six investors, including BBG Ventures, a corporate venturing subsidiary of mass media company AOL.
The other investors in the round were Accel Partners, Collaborative Fund, Harrison Metal, Slow Ventures and Lowercase Capital.
Founded in 2014 as Forage, Din deconstructs recipes supplied by prominent San Francisco restaurants and chefs with which it partners, and delivers them to customers as meal kits that can be cooked in less than 20 minutes.
The company has recently expanded operations to Los Angeles and moved production to a 12,000 square foot culinary facility.
Din previously received funding from Evan Williams, co-founder of social network Twitter and blogging platform Medium, and Hass Hassan, the founder of organic food retailer Fresh & Wild and a board member at grocery retail chain Whole Foods.
