US-based audio processing software provider DSP Concepts has raised $14.5m in a series B round featuring consumer electronics producer Sony, chipset makers Arm and MediaTek and carmakers BMW and Porsche.
Venture capital firm Taiwania Capital led the round while Sony, Arm, BMW and Porsche invested through Sony Innovation Fund by IGV, Arm IoT Fund, BMW iVentures and Porsche Ventures respectively.
DSP Concepts has built an audio processing engine called Audio Weaver that helps software developers optimise audio features for their smart electronic systems. It is also the creator of TalkTo, a tool that helps add voice control features to products that work even in noisy environments.
The funding will support the company’s international expansion, including the launch of a new branch in Taiwan later this year.
BMW iVentures led DSP Concepts’ $10m series A round in 2017, investing alongside venture capital firm Walden International Ventures and angel investor David Tsang.
