Germany-based energy utility E.ON is reported to have invested $100m in the recent $130m funding round for US-based solid oxide fuel cell maker Bloom Energy. The other investor in the latest round was Credit Suisse.
Bloom Energy has now raised over $1.2bn, with its G round having closed at $150m in 2011. Previous investors include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, New Enterprise Associates, Advanced Equities, Goldman Sachs, DAG Ventures, GSV Capital, Apex Venture Partners, Mobius Venture Capital, Madrone Capital and SunBridge Partners.
