Ademidum (Demi) Edosomwan has departed from TotalEnergies Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of France-based oil and gas group TotalEnergies.
Edosomwan has not revealed her next steps but currently serves on the boards of rewards-for-recycling platform operator Wecyclers Corporation and distributed energy IoT software provider Shyft Power Solutions.
Having spent more than 16 years at TotalEnergies, Edosomwan has held various legal positions. She became a senior investment manager in 2017 before joining TotalEnergies’ predecessor, Total Carbon Neutrality Ventures, in 2019 as an investment director.
The unit appointed Edosomwan managing director of emerging markets later that year, and the role involved her sourcing potential startups, searching especially for Africa-based entrepreneurs that are developing carbon neutrality technologies.
Edosomwan came seventh in the GCV Rising Stars 2020 top 100 awards roster. Girish Nadkarni, the unit’s then president said at the time, said: “She has put together an outstanding team and is an inspiring great manager and mentor.”
TotalEnergies Ventures was equipped with $400m and was an active CVC investor. After Nadkarni departed and was replaced by his predecessor Francois Badoual, the latter announced the unit would be wound down to focus on its accelerator scheme, TotalEnergies On.
Regarding her departure, Edosomwan said: “The years have flown by and have been full of exciting challenges and wonderful experiences. More importantly, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know you and to exchange with you on different subjects. This has enriched me greatly and I thank you for being part of my journey so far.”
