India-based app developer Frilp, a graduate of computing company Microsoft’s accelerator programme Microsoft Ventures, has been acquired by service desk software provider Freshdesk for an undisclosed sum, VentureBeat has reported.
Frilp has created a smartphone app through which users can ask their friends for help. The company will shut the app down in the near future as its staff joins Freshdesk’s development team.
Freshdesk will incorporate Frilp’s technology to improve its customer support, helping it forward queries to the agent most familiar with the concern at hand.
The company will also recruit users from help forums to help other clients and tap into customers’ social media networks for additional help with potential issues.
Frilp obtained $500,000 in angel funding from a range of private individuals in August 2014, before joining the Microsoft Ventures batch in Bangalore in March 2015.
