Japan-based education services provider Globis has selected the second batch of 12 startups for its G-Startup accelerator.
The participants include crypto asset data analysis tool developer Basset, employee communication and productivity analysis platform Boulder, senior care technology developer Cai-Tech, personalised perfume brand Code Meee, restaurant ordering system developer Dinii and community e-commerce platform EC-Gain.
Healthcare technology producer Hospital Compliance Management Japan, electric kickboard rental service Luup, video and screen sharing app Picable, online lumber market operator Shin-Mirai, healthcare system developer Sirutasu and Fondi, operator of a virtual community for English language learning, filled out the list.
Formed in April 2019, G-Startup aims to produce 100 unicorns (companies valued at $1bn or more). Globis partners participating entrepreneurs and supports their projects in five areas: human resources, fundraising, know-how, networking and strategic alliances with large corporations.
The startups will receive product and business development support through lectures given by seasoned entrepreneurs, venture capital specialists and mentors starting in March 2020.
The first cohort contained 14 companies that are now preparing to raise funding. 70 people attended the demo day held in November 2019 including members of Globis’ corporate venturing arm, Globis Capital Partners, as well as institutional VCs and angel investors.
