US-based venture capital firm Garage Technology Ventures is looking for a corporate venturing partner to back entrepreneurs in materials science, energy technologies, advanced chemistry and clean technologies.
Garage and its corporate partners will invest $500,000 to $5m from seed and early-stage to growth and late-stage companies.
Garage said corporations were showing an increased urgency to tap into the Silicon Valley innovation community as part of their long-term innovation strategy.
Bill Reichert, managing director of Garage, said: “Corporate investors see the need to participate more aggressively in the new venture ecosystem.
“At the same time, global strategic investors can bring a lot more than just money to an emerging technology company, if the relationship is managed correctly.”
Over the past 14 years, Garage has funded more than 150 emerging technology companies, including Pandora Media, Motley Fool, LeftHand Networks, Tripwire, Coremetrics, Simply Hired, CaseStack, and WhiteHat Security.
