GlamSquad raises $15m to join series B league

US-based beauty services provider GlamSquad has raise $15m in a series B round featuring telecommunications firm SoftBank’s corporate venturing arm SoftBank Capital and BBG Fund, an investment vehicle of media company AOL.

The round was led by venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates and included Lerer Hippeau Ventures and Montage Ventures.

Founded in January 2014, GlamSquad operates a marketplace connecting beauty professionals to clients. Users can book services to be delivered at convenient locations such as the home, a hotel or the office.

The service is currently available in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. The series B capital will enable the company to continue its US expansion, increase its engineering and marketing teams, and consider the development ofadditional services and products, such as own brand, bridal and e-commerce products.

The company previously closed a $7m series A round in October 2014 led by SoftBank Capital and backed by BBG Fund, Lerer and Montage. GlamSquad also obtained $2m in seed funding in January 2014 from unnamed investors.
