Gofro books $10m series B trip

India-based online holiday marketplace Gofro raised $10m in a series B round today led by travel comapny MakeMyTrip, with participation from travel agency HIS.

The company is in advanced talks with additional investors to extend the round.

Gofro enables tourists to book fixed and customisable holiday packages to more than 70 international destinations. The company had until now focused on Indian customers, but is set to expand internationally, beginning with Japan.

The money will also go towards further platform development and an expansion of the supply and agency network.

MakeMyTrip was listed as a returning investor for the series B, though Gofro has not revealed details about previous funding rounds.

Amitabh Misra, founder and chief executive of Gofro, said: “We are delighted to have HIS as our investor. We are excited about this partnership and our journey forward as we launch the Gofro platform in Japan in the coming months.
