Google Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of US-based search engine Google, has helped organic coffee company Blue Bottle Coffee raise $20m in venture capital funding.
True Ventures, the venture firm of Google chairman Eric Schmidt, and venture firm Index Ventures, led the funding, as disclosed in the Blue Bottle’s recent SEC filing. Other investors in Blue Bottle include incubator Obvious Corp.
Blue Bottle also announced the appointment of new president and chief executive, Bryan Meehan.
