Christina Heggie left her role as investment principal at JetBlue Technology Ventures (JTV), US-based airline operator JetBlue’s corporate venturing subsidiary, to join internet technology provider Google today.
Heggie, who was chosen as this year’s Global Corporate Venturing Rising Star, initially joined JTV in 2016 as an investment associate before being promoted in late 2017. She had previously worked in a senior marketing role for Checkmate.
During her time at JTV, Heggie led deals and sat on the boards of hotel booking app developer Recharge, air miles gifting platform Skyhour, flight-delays prediction service Lumo, electronic ticketing platform developer Redeam and baggage delivery services provider Unicoaero.
Heggie told GCV her new role would be in Google Partnerships organisation, helping Google strengthen its partnerships within the travel industry.
Heggie added: “It was a tough decision as JTV has been a wonderful home for three years, but I am incredibly excited to be joining Google to help build out their travel strategy and could not pass up the opportunity.
“The past three years at JTV has been a fantastic experience, one in which I have grown and learned significantly. I am thrilled to be moving on to an exciting new role at Google and will only continue to cheer on JTV’s future successes. I look forward to continuing to partner on building the travel industry.”
