US-based customer support software provider Freshdesk secured $50m yesterday in a series E round backed by Google Capital, the growth equity arm of diversified internet company Google.
Tiger Global Management led the round, which also included venture capital firm Accel Partners.
Founded in 2010, Freshdesk’s software enables companies to interact with their customers through all channels including social media and mobile. The funding will be used to scale the company’s operations to meet demand that has helped it double its customer base over the past year to 40,000.
FreshDesk has now raised $94m altogether, including $31m from Google Capital, Tiger Global and Accel in June 2014.
Gene Frantz, general partner at Google Capital, said: “Freshdesk offers a compelling, modern customer experience delivered with cloud-scale cost and flexibility.
“We are excited to support Freshdesk with additional investment as it continues to innovate, scale and reach new heights.”
