CloudSimple, a US-based enterprise cloud computing-upload tool developer backed by software provider Microsoft’s M12 unit, has been acquired by internet technology provider Google for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2016, CloudSimple has devised a suite of software tools that help transfer existing enterprise apps from internal IT systems on to cloud computing platforms.
The tools have been built using VMWare’s server virtualisation middleware and come structured as distinct microservices, facilitating the quick movement of enterprise workloads into the cloud.
CloudSimple’s team will move over with the acquisition as Google prepares to integrate the product with its Google Cloud platform. M12 had invested an undisclosed amount in the company in April 2018.
Guru Pangal, founder and chief executive of CloudSimple, said: “I am incredibly proud of the sharp, experienced and dedicated team at CloudSimple for building this service.
“We are incredibly excited to be part of Google Cloud and look forward to accelerating our ability to help customers easily move their enterprise workloads to the cloud.”
