Adam Ghobarah, a six year veteran of US-based search engine company Google, has moved across to its corporate venturing unit as an engineering partner.
Ghobarah joined Google in 2006. His profile on Google Ventures’ website says: "At Google Ventures, he guides portfolio companies on data analysis and helps identify disruptive startups in the big data and analysis space." Bill Maris, the managing partner at Google Ventures, was quoted by news provider the New York Times, as saying this week: "This is part of an entire team we are assembling. We have an internal quantitative team. Adam underlines the importance of this."
Ghobarah previously worked at Mathsoft, a developer of mathematical software tools for mechanical and civil engineers.
He received his PhD in Statistics from the University of Texas at Austin and was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University.
