Dr Shona Brown, who served on Google’s management team from 2003 to January 2013, when she stepped into an advisory role with Google, has joined the advisory board of data analytics startup ClearStory Data as a strategic advisor.
Google Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of search engine Google, participated in a $9m series A round for ClearStory Data in December 2012, and also contributed to its seed funding.
Prior to Google, Dr. Brown was a partner at McKinsey & Company. She is the author of “Competing on the Edge: Strategy as Structured Chaos” and is a director of various non-profit organizations including the San Francisco Jazz Organization.
