US-based cybersecurity technology developer GoSecure today raised $20m in a series E round co-led by financial services firm Bank of Montreal.
Enterprise software producer SAP’s corporate venturing arm, SAP National Security Services (SAP/NS2), and venture capital firm Razor’s Edge Ventures took part in the round, which was co-led by Yaletown Partners.
GoSecure was founded in 2004 as NeuralIQ before rebranding to CounterTack in 2011. The company has developed a managed detection and response platform for companies to prevent cyberattacks and other digital threats.
The company will use the series E proceeds to expand its presence in the North American market.
Mobile network operator NTT Docomo’s investment unit, NTT Docomo Ventures, put up an undisclosed sum for GoSecure in November 2017, which came six months after a $20m series D round co-led by telecoms firm Singtel subsidiary Singtel Innov8 and SAP/NS2.
Razor’s Edge had already backed CounterTack’s $10m funding in 2016, investing alongside TenEleven Ventures and Siemens Venture Partners, respective subsidiaries of healthcare software supplier TenEleven and industrial product maker Siemens.
The corporate VC units were joined by defence technology developer ManTech, conglomerate Mitsui and telecoms equipment provider Alcatel-Lucent, investment bank Goldman Sachs, Fairhaven Capital Partners and EDBI.
Alcatel-Lucent, Goldman Sachs, Mitsui, TenEleven Ventures and Siemens Venture Partners had also contributed to GoSecure’s $15m series C in 2015, which featured the US Army’s OnPoint Technologies vehicle.
Siemens Venture Capital , Goldman Sachs, Fairhaven, Razor’s Edge and OnPoint had all helped the company close a $20m series B in 2014, which took place three years after a $9.5m series A funding led by Fairhaven.
