GotIt, the US-based on-demand tutoring marketplace backed by semiconductor maker Intel, has raised an undisclosed amount of capital to take its seed and series A funding to “over $9m”.
Capricorn Investment Group led the series A round, while conglomerate Fosun Group led the seed round, according to a blog post by GotIt executive chairman Peter Relan.
GotIt runs an on-demand app-based service that students can use to get help from experts in a range of fields, paying to secure access to them in 10-minute increments.
The company launched the Android version of the service, currently in beta, last week and plans to add a knowledge base of millions of answers that will enable it to also operate a more linear, chatbot-based service in future.
The startup received $100,000 from Intel’s corporate venturing unit, Intel Capital, as a member of its first Intel Education accelerator, which began in August 2015. It also secured $120,000 from YouWeb, the incubator founded by Relan.
