Brazil-based marketing and retail consulting firm Gouvêa de Souza has formed a partnership with venture capital firm Bossa Nova Investimentos to form what they refer to as a startup potentialiser.
The unit, GS&UP, is equipped with R$6m ($1.9m) in capital and will work with retail, consumer and tourism technology startups, providing funding and industry expertise.
Bossa Nova Investimentos partner João Kepler said: “We chose to use this name because a single word sums up our major goal with this project which is to empower and help develop startups in a solid way and with all the backing and infrastructure that [Gouvêa de Souza] and Bossa can offer.
“And why is it more than an acceleration? Because it will not work the business model, but will stimulate what the most mature startup needs: marketing, sales, connections and customers.”
