Gree, a Japan-based social media group, has invested in two games technology start-ups, Wizcorp and Canada-based Iugo Mobile Entertainment.
Gree said it might use its latest portfolio companies’ game development engines for a number of future releases in the US and other international markets.
Founded in 2008, Wizcorp started life as a web consultancy business but is now focused on game development through its Mithril HTML5 platform.
Founded in 2003, Iugo’s three proprietary technologies are Iugo Games Library, IRender3D Engine, and Iugo Mesh Social Game Engine.
Gree opened its North American office last year.
