Samsung Ventures, Nokia Growth Partners and NTT’s Docomo Capital have invested alongside venture capital firms Benaroya Capital and Ignition Partners in the $6m series C round, after US-based touchscreen keyboard company Swype had already raised $3.5m in a first close in March.
Swype raised $6.6m in a series B round from investors including Docomo, Nokia Growth Partners and Samsung Ventures. A spokeswoman said the company has raised $14.2m in its history.
Swype’s technology allows users to type on touchscreen phones at more than 40 words per minute.
Swype said it expects its technology could be used by more than 100 million devices globally by the end of this year.
