Housi, a Brazil-based on-demand accommodation marketplace founded by co-living property developer Vitacon, has received R$50m ($11.2m) from venture capital firm Redpoint Eventures, Exame has reported.
Housi runs an online marketplace where consumers can book flexible stays at one of 5,000 fully-furnished Brazilian residences sourced from Vitacon’s portfolio.
The company sets the rental prices on behalf of the property’s landlord, fitting each space with fashionable décor to maximise demand, and they can be booked both through its own online portal and third-party services like Airbnb.
Housi expected to have assembled a portfolio of 20,000 properties by the end of 2019 but is currently at only 5,000 Valor Econômico reported. Vitacon supplied Housi with an undisclosed amount of funding when establishing the company earlier this year, according to Exame.
