Business travel booking service HRS Group has acquired Germany-based hotel check-in software provider and portfolio company Conichi for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2014, Conichi has created an automated system that allows hotel guests to rapidly check in and out, and pay for their stay, using their mobile device. It will be integrated into the newly formed, payment-focused business division of HRS.
HRS was reported to have invested $7.9m in Conichi in 2015 but said in the announcement of the acquisition that it had provided €10m (roughly $11m) in funding for the company in 2016.
Max Waldmann, co-founder and chief executive of Conichi, said: “The acquisition is proof of the strong performance of the entire Conichi team over the last few years. I am grateful for every second with this unique team.
“We are proud that our HRS roots only grow stronger now, and that together – leveraging global resources, superior data integration and regional expertise – we will be on the front lines of global corporate payment automation for years to come.”
