Slicebooks, a US-based publishing platform for remixing content, announced at the end of July that it had raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from ICG Ventures, the corporate venture arm of book and media content distributor Ingram Content Group, itself a subsidiary of US-based media company Ingram Industries. Slicebooks is owned by EarlyAccess.
Jill Tomich, Slicebooks chief executive officer, said: “The Slicebooks ecosystem is all about helping publishers repurpose content to improve discoverability while also giving consumers greater choice and flexibility. Our mission is to make all content available whole, sliced and remixable, and how, when and where consumers want it.”
In addition to receiving the seed funding from Ingram, publishers that have integrated with Ingram Content Group’s CoreSource platform have the option to have their files delivered to Slicebooks for remixing.
