The city of Berlin has invested in Germany-based digital marketing company Brandnew’s $1.9m seed round.
The company raised $1.1m as a grant from Berlin’s Program for the Promotion of Research, Innovation and Technology (Pro Fit) and another $845,000 from marketing company PubliGroupe, venture capital company Belin Ventures and private investor Lukas Kircher.
Brandnew connects companies wanting to advertise on image-based sites such as Instagram and Pinterest with influential users.
Francis Trapp, chief executive and founder of Brandnew, said: “To receive this grant and be recognised by the city of Berlin as an innovative technology company is a great honour. The Pro FIT program has supported a lot of great German startups in the past like Fyber (formerly Sponsorpay) and Adjust (formerly Adeven).”
