US-based technology media platform The Information has revealed the latest participants in its Information Accelerator, which funds for early-stage journalism projects.
The 2019 cohort includes four founders of news publications: Joyce Yang from cryptocurrency and blockchain title Global Coin Research, David Skok from innovation news outlet The Logic, Sherrell Dorsey from tech newsletter ThePlug and Nina Xiang from technology and business news site China Money Network.
Each participant will receive $25,000 in capital in addition to counsel and help in finding customers to drive their publications forward. This year’s edition is sponsored by project collaboration software developer Airtable and audience management platform Piano.
The Information operates a subscription-based news platform catering to the tech industry, and formed Information Accelerator in August 2017 to foster more innovative journalism businesses.
The latest intake will begin classes in January 2019 with a week-long boot camp at The Information’s base in San Francisco.
