InsightSquared, a US-based data intelligence services provider for small and medium-sized businesses, has raised $4.5m in its series A round from a consortium including sales management software company Salesforce as a new investor.
InsightSquared will also integrate its software-as-a-service with Salesforce’s.
Venture capital firms Atlas Venture, which led the A round, Bessemer Venture Partners and NextView Ventures also invested in InsightSquared alongside angels Steve Papa (founder of Endeca), CommonAngels, Dharmesh Shah (founder of HubSpot) and Mike McDerment (founder of FreshBooks).
InsightSquared previously raised $1m in its seed round in February last year from the above VCs and angels, as well as GrandBanks Capital.
Separately, Mixpanel, a US-based analytics platform for mobile and web, has raised $10m in its series A round from a consortium including Salesforce’s founder and chief executive, Marc Benioff.
VC firm Andreessen Horowitz led the round, and was joined by angel investors Max Levchin (PayPal) and David Sachs.
