Kabam, a US-based developer of online games known as Watercooler until August, has raised $30m in its series C round from a consortium including Intel Capital, the corporate venturing unit of semiconductor company Intel.
As well as Intel Capital as a new investor backing Kabam is venture capital (VC) firm Redpoint Ventures.
Canaan Partners, a VC firm that incubated Kabam, also reinvested, although UK-listed gambling exchange Betfair was not mentioned.
Canaan and Betfair invested $5.5m in Kabam’s series B round in October 2009.
