US chip company Intel’s corporate venturing unit has reportedly moved David Thomas from director general of merger and acquisitions, returning him to his former role as director of strategic investments in Latin America.
Thomas has moved back to the South American role at Intel Capital which he left 18 months ago, according to news provider RCR Americas.
Thomas joined Intel Capital in 2000. He is a board member at educational company Tabula Digita and a former board member of US-based classroom equipment company Smart Technologies. David served as a board member and is chairman emeritus of the Latin America Venture Capital Association and is a founding member of the FGV Center for Brazilian Studies in Private Equity & Venture Capital.
He has worked on more than 60 investments including exited deals such as Groove Networks, acquired by US-based technology company Microsoft, and Chile-based technology firm Sonda, which floated.
