Early stage venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners has appointed Sunil James, formerly a product manager at internet company Google, as a vice president.
James led product management for Google Cloud Platform’s networking division, and was previously a product manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing subsidiary of e-commerce company Amazon.
BVP also promoted Amit Karp, who joined the firm in in 2012, to vice president. Prior to joining BVP, Karp was a a senior associate at consultancy McKinsey & Company.
Both James and Karp will work with Bessemer’s investing partners to identify entrepreneurial opportunities in the mobile, cloud, security and infrastructure sectors.
Past investments of Bessemer include LinkedIn, Yelp and Pinterest. This month the firm participated in a $25m series C round for cloud storage platform CTERA Networks, which also included funding from networking technology company Cisco.
