Johnson & Johnson reveals Jlabs lineup

Johnson & Johnson Innovation, a corporate venturing subsidiary of US-based healthcare products manufacturer Johnson & Johnson, has unveiled a 30,000-square foot incubator that will house up to 50 startups.

The company has also revealed the initial 10 companies which will be resident at the Jlabs South San Francisco campus.

They are immuno-oncology company Ab Initio Biotherapeutics, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical startups Afferent Pharmaceuticals and Alkahest, biopharmaceuical company Applied Molecular Transport, biotechnology developer Audentes Therapeutics, Alzheimer’s disease-focused pharmaceutical companies Cortexyme and Driver BioEngineering, agribusiness EpiBiome, gene therapy developer Goleini and dermatology researcher MindEra.

Resident startups will range from across the healthcare spectrum, encompassing not only biotech and pharmaceutical companies, but also medical device, consumer, and digital health concerns.

The South San Francisco campus is the fourth JLABS incubator opened, followingbranches in San Diego, Boston and San Francisco proper. Another forthcoming Jlabs site is expected to open in Houston in 2016.
