TouchBistro, a Canada-based provider of point-of-sale payment technology for food outlets, has closed a C$6m ($4.8m) series A round featuring online food delivery service Just Eat.
The round, which also included Kensington Capital Partners, Relay Ventures and Difference Capital, took TouchBistro’s overall funding to C$12m since it was founded in 2011. The previous C$6m came from Kensington, Relay, Walden Venture Capital and assorted angel investors.
Alex Barrotti, chief executive of TouchBistro, said: “We will take TouchBistro’s global expansion to an entirely new level with this latest round of funding.
“We are delighted to have the continued support of our previous investors for our latest round, and are particularly excited to have Just Eat involved as a new strategic investor. We believe that TouchBistro and Just Eat individually provide restaurants with great services, but that an integrated solution makes for a much better customer experience.”
