SoftBank Ventures Asia, a subsidiary of telecommunications and internet group SoftBank, led a nine-digit yuan (RMB100m = $15.3m) series C round for China-based service robot manufacturer KeenOn yesterday.
Founded in 2010, KeenOn has developed commercial service robots leveraging automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. They are used in the catering, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, logistics, government and real estate industries.
The robots have been deployed by organisations in almost 500 Chinese cities and more than 60 countries including Belgium, Canada, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the United States, Singapore, South Korea and Spain.
The company had previously completed a $28.6m series B round in March 2020 featuring Source Code Capital, Walden International, Shanghai S&T, Yunqi Partners and iVision Ventures.
Yunqi and iVision had joined Seekdource in KeenOn’s pre-series B round in early 2019, the two having backed a series A round three years before. The company secured a total of RMB200m across the two rounds.
