KnowRe, a South Korea-based education technology company for mathematics in US schools, has raised $6.8m in a series A round led by existing investor SoftBank Ventures Korea (SBVK).
SBVK, a corporate venturing firm affiliated with Japan-based internet conglomerate SoftBank, was joined in the round by investors including venture capital firms KTB Network, Partners Investment and SparkLabs Global Ventures.
SBVK also contributed the $1.4m raised by KnowRe for its seed round in January 2013.
KnowRe has developed a cloud-based adaptive learning programme for mathematics that won the New York City Department of Education’s Gap App Challenge last year.
Sean Lee, executive director at SBVK, said: “We initially invested in KnowRe because we were impressed with the vision, technology, and capabilities of the KnowRe team.”
