Edaixi, the China-based on-demand laundry app backed by internet portal Tencent, has raised $20m in its series A round, QQ Tech has reported.
SIG China, a subsidiary of technology and trading firm Susquehanna International Group, and private equity firm Matrix Partners were the investors in the round.
Edaixi is a service currently operating in Beijing that enables customers to have their laundry picked up at their door, washed and then returned. The service is operated by laundromat chain Rongchang and can be ordered through the Exdaixi app of the Tencent-owned messaging service WeChat.
The series A funding will support the hiring of more delivery drivers, the provision of user subsidies and the expansion of the service into more cities.
Edaixi raised $3.2m in seed funding in July this year from Tencent and Rongchang Group.
