Electronics producer Samsung has exited US-based student performance softwtare provider LearnSprout through an acquisition by computing company Apple, according to Bloomberg.
Founded in 2012, LearnSprout produces software that enables schools to use data analytics to better understand student information, helping them to track and act on trends covering segments or the whole of their student population.
LearnSprout received $4.2m in a 2013 series A round featuring Samsung’s corporate venturing arm, Samsung Ventures, as well as Formation 8 and angel investor Justin Tan.
Formation 8, Andreesseen Horowitz and a host of angel investors had already supplied the company with $500,000 in seed funding.
