John Deedrick (pictured), a former venture manager for US healthcare company Mayo’s first corporate venturing fund, has joined venture capital firm Linn Grove Ventures.
From 1997 to 2003, Deedrick helped launch Mayo Clinic’s Mayo Medical Ventures unit, which started its second fund in 2009. He managed investments in several emerging medical companies including Nasdaq-listed Exact Sciences, Volcano Therapeutics and Tomotherapy, as well as Circe Biomedical and Image-Guided Neurologics, which were both acquired.
At Mayo he helped the unit incubate Santarus, Copharos, TeraMedica and Torax Medical before leaving to become a founder and managing director of VC firm Accuitive Medical Ventures, which raised $230m in two funds.
