Luxe, a US-based on-demand valet service previously backed by internet company Google, has raised $20m in a series A round co-led by Redpoint Ventures and Venrock Partners, TechCrunch reported yesterday.
Luxe previously received $5.5m in an October 2014 seed round featuring Google Ventures, Google’s corporate venturing unit, as well as Redpoint, Sherpa Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Upfront Ventures, Foundation Capital, BoxGroup, Slow Ventures, Eniac Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures and Data Collective.
Luxe, which currently operates in San Francisco and Los Angeles, enables users of its app to book a valet for their car at any destination in either city.
The valet will pick up the car, drive it to a nearby partner garage and return it to any destination in the city, while extra services such as washing and refilling the petrol tank are optional.
Luxe’s app is currently only available for iPhones, but Luxe will use part of the funding to also launch on Android. It also plans to expand into more US cities.
