Maveron in Panna Cooking’s $1.35m funding pot

Maveron, the venture capital investor in consumer businesses, co-founded by Starbucks executive chairman Howard Schultz, has participated in the $1.35m Series A financing of Panna Cooking, a bi-monthly video cooking magazine for iphone and ipad.

 The financing was led by venture capital investor Anthem Ventures. Other investors include Lerer Ventures (a seed-stage venture capital fund), Crosslink Capital (a venture and growth equity investor), Advancit Capital (an early stage investor focused on media, entertainment and technology, co-founded by media executive Shari Redstone), Launchpad LA, (a startup accelerator), and Box Group (David Tisch’s early stage, angel investment fund), as well as venture firm RSL Venture Partners, and angels Dan Rose, Rick Caruso, Ken Siskind, Jay Livingston, Aaron Schiff and David Levy.

Panna Cooking was launched in 2012 by David Ellner, formerly President of Digital and Business Development for 19 Entertainment, with financing commitments from crowd-funding site Kickstarter.
