After nine years of leading consumer Internet investments, Lucy McQuilken (pictured) has left Intel to become a mentor-in-residence with TechStars Boston, and is making angel investments.
McQuilken’s decision to move on from Intel reportedly arose from her desire to work more hands-on with companies.
McQuilken joined Intel Capital in 2004. Prior to that, she was founder and CEO of Groove Mobile, a leading provider of mobile music services, acquired by NMS Communications.
Intel Capital has lost about a dozen people from its investment team in the past year following an appraisal of performance and strategy, according to insiders.
