China-based social media app developer Medlinker has closed a $40m series B round led by internet company Tencent, China Money Network reported yesterday.
The round also featured Yunfeng Capital, a private equity firm co-founded by Jack Ma, chairman of e-commerce company Alibaba.
Founded in 2014, Medlinker provides an app aimed at healthcare professionals, enabling them to communicate with each other and discuss treatments.
The company claims to have 100,000 users and intends to use the funding to grow that number to 500,000. Medlinker also plans on adding office productivity tools to its app.
The company previously secured capital from Sequoia Capital China, Ceyuan Ventures and PreAngel, though it has not disclosed the terms of the funding.
