Mesa+ starts fund

Mesa+, a corporate venturing unit of the eponymous strategic advisory firm, is launching a $10m fund for seed and series A-stage deals in consumer internet, digital content, advertising, marketing, and commerce in New York.

Mesa has hree partners: Jacob Brody, Andrew Montgomery, and Mark Patricof, son of Greycroft and Apax Partners venture capital firms founder Alan.

MESA+ expects to invest in 50 to 70 companies and its limited partners include publisher Conde Nast, media investor Saban Capital and record company Sony Music. The fund’s investor advisory committee includes Andrew Siegel, senior vice-president of strategy and corporate development at Advance Publications, parent company to both Conde Nast and Reddit, as well as Jonathan Miller, News Corp’s former chief digital officer.
