MissFresh, a China-based grocery e-commerce platform backed by internet company Tencent, has secured RMB230m ($36m) in series B+ capital, China Money Network reported today, citing local media reports.
The round, which has not been officially confirmed by MissFresh, was reportedly led by investment firm Yuanyi Capital and included venture capital firm China Growth Capital.
Tencent led the company’s initial $31m series B round in November 2015, which included Zheshang Venture Capital Management and other, unnamed investors.
Founded in 2014, MissFresh runs an app that consumers can use to order fresh produce that is then delivered within two hours. The company claims to have several million users across more than 30 cities in China.
MissFresh had reportedly also raised $10m in series A funding from Tencent and GX Capital. It is unrelated to the Canada-based company of the same name, which offers a subscription-based meal delivery service.
