SingTel Innov8, the corporate venturing unit of Singapore Telecommunication, the Singapore-based telecoms group, has backed app maker moment.me with an undisclosed sum.
Moment.me develops a browser and phone app which aggregate photographs videos and tweets from different social networks into a single platform allowing users to access, group, and share content from Facebook, Instagram, Picasa, Flickr and Google+ across a single interface.
Moment.me made its debut at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix with which SingTel recently signed a five year extension to it’s sponsorship contract.
SingTel’s investment comes on the heels of moment.me’s $1.5m seed round which closed in May which was backed by venture capital firm Blumberg Capital and private angel investors.
Speaking of moment.me’s potential as a social advertising platform co-founder and chief officer of the company Ronny Elkayam said: “This partnership with SingTel gives marketers a taste of how users can experience sports events, concerts and parties through the simultaneous multiple perspectives of the dozens, hundreds and even thousands of other users who are tweeting, taking pictures and shooting videos. It will also demonstrate how users can find personally relevant, interesting and trending moments materializing nearby, bringing an element of social discovery to the app and a new way for marketers to connect with fans and followers.”
