Japan-based confectionery producer Morinaga & Company has formed a startup accelerator called Morinaga Accelerator in partnership with incubator 01Booster, The Bridge has reported.
Morinaga is launching the accelerator as part of its Okashinnovation initiative, which was set up to help leverage innovation in the confectionery industry. The company will provide equity to the startups taking part as well as assistance.
The establishment of the accelerator follows 01Booster’s launch of a similar partnership with Japan-based educational technology provider Gakken. Morinaga Accelerator will start accepting applications next month, with the first batch set to be launched in April.
