Networked Insights gains $30m

Networked Insights, a US-based provider of marketing analytics software, has secured $30m in funding from investors including American Family Ventures, the venture capital subsidiary of insurance provider American Family.

The round, which was co-led by Sands Light Capital and the Cherng Family Trust, also featured investment bank Goldman Sachs, VC funds 4490 Ventures and Kegonsa Seed Fund, and undisclosed private investors.

Networked Insights has built a software platform called Kairos that utilises artificial intelligence and machine learning to pinpoint what people find relevant, helping brands and marketing agencies to target their advertising more precisely.

The round increased Networked Insights’ overall funding to approximately $80m since it was founded in 2006. American Family Ventures participated in the latest round as an existing investor, but the company has not disclosed details of its earlier investment.

Goldman Sachs led Networked Insights’ $20m series B round in 2011 through its Asset Management division, and returned for a $9.4m series C round in 2013 and an $8.8m round the following year.
