In addition to lead corporate venturing unit Nokia Growth Partners, fellow new investor China Ease Management Limited has joined existing backers Northern Light VC, Tuspark Ventures and FnH in a series D round for China outdoor digital billboard advertising company SolarVista Media. The funds will be used to roll out SolarVista’s patented Dynamic Color Pixel (DCP) digital billboards.
“We believe convergence of mobile and outdoor marketing is underway and SolarVista Media is well positioned to capitalize on this trend. We are pleased to add SolarVista Media to our portfolio,” said David Tang, Partner, Nokia Growth Partners.
SolarVista’s uses patented DCP digital billboard technology to upgrade traditional outdoor billboards into a flexible, digital communication network. DCP billboards run on natural light, can change images electronically and do not cause plastic waste when campaigns change, making it a more environmentally friendly alternative for advertisers.
SolarVista’s billboard network is active in 17 large Chinese cities including Shanghai and Beijing. Details of its past funding rounds have not been made public.
