NTT Investment Partners, a corporate venturing unit of Japan-based phone operator Nippon Telegraph & Telephone (NTT), has invested $1m in Synerchip, which helps connect video and voice devices and raised $10.5m last year.
In April last year, Synerchip, a China and US-based provider of semiconductors, raised $10.5m in its series C round from a consortium including Spirox Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous Taiwan-based technology distributor.
Alongside Spirox Ventures were venture capital firms Jafco Asia and Pac-Link Capital, which led the round as new investors, and other existing investors Magic Shares, Shinden and Synerchip chief executive, David Lee.
Synerchip’s previous rounds were undisclosed.
