US-based vintage furniture marketplace Chairish has raised $8m in a series B round that featured O’Reilly Alpha Tech Ventures (OATV), the corporate venturing arm of media company O’Reilly Media.
Venture capital firm Altos Ventures led the round, while fellow VC firm Azure Capital Partners also participated.
Chairish operates a curated online marketplace focused on vintage furniture, art and décor. It has also created a luxury marketplace, dubbed Decorative Arts Society (Decaso), to sell products from antique, modernism and art dealers.
The money will go toward regional expansion, brand awareness and product development for both Chairish’s online marketplace and Decaso. Chairish will also introduce an augmented reality feature to its apps that will allow customers to see a preview of a product in their home.
OATV and Azure previously co-led the company’s $4m series A round in 2014, having previously provided $3.2m in seed funding a year earlier.
