PlaceIQ, a US-based consumer analytics platform backed by advertising agency KBS+, has received $25m in series D funding from undisclosed investors.
PlaceIQ combines location intelligence with behaviour analysis in a platform that uses information sourced from mobile devices to build up a detailed picture of a consumer that can be utilised for more effective marketing.
The funds sourced from the round will be used to strengthen PlaceIQ’s technology, including its foot traffic measurement system, Place Visit Rate.
KBS+ Ventures, which acts as the corporate venturing arm of KBS+, joined venture capital firms IA Ventures and Social Leverage to supply PlaceIQ with $1m in seed funding in 2011.
US Venture Partners and Valhalla Partners combined with KBS+ and IA for a $4.2m series A round later in the year before the same investors supplied $6.75m in 2013. Harmony Partners and Iris Capital came on board for a $15m series C round the following year.
Duncan McCall, PlaceIQ’s co-founder and CEO, said: “With this funding, we see the chance to deepen our ability to serve clients by industry vertical, as well as horizontally along business decisions.”
